Please share a memory of Terry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Beloved husband, father, brother and friend,Terry Lee Braid, 70, of Rathdrum, Idaho, peacefully passed away on January 9, 2020 at the Schneidmiller House of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. Terry was born on May 23, 1949; the son of Donald and Harriet (Tucker) Braid. Terry was born and raised in Spokane. He met and married the great love of his life, Michelle Prinz in 1986. They have four wonderful children: James, Meagan, Morgan and Sheleena. Terry went into the military at the young age of 17 and proudly served in the United States Army. Terry served in Vietnam for over three and a half years. Following Vietnam, he spent time in Germany as part of his service, building roads and airports. Terry retired after 20 years in the Army. His time in the Army will forever be appreciated by those who he sacrificed to protect. After his military career, Terry worked as a truck driver for over 20 years. He enjoyed the long hauls and often had the opportunity to bring along his family on his road adventures. He had countless stories for the many mile markers he came across on his travels. His family will never forget- markers 218-219, is not a mile. During Terry’s spare time, he loved riding his bike, a Harley Davidson Street Bob. The bike brought him many miles of joy and open road freedom. He was proud of the custom paint job on his gas tank which invited strangers to become new friends. His Harley’s tank will be proudly given to the Vietnam’s Memorial Wall where many more will be able to appreciate the custom artwork. Terry belonged to the 59th LCC (Land Clearing Company) and often participated in Run For the Wall with other bike enthusiasts. Terry was a hard worker and one of the friendliest people you could ever meet. Everything he did, he did with dedication and heart. If a job needed to be done, he would be the man you would want to get the job done. Terry is survived by his beloved wife, Michelle; his children, James Braid of Washington, Meagan Braid of Texas, Morgan Braid of Idaho, and Sheleena Braid of Idaho; his brothers, Bill Braid of Washington and Jim Braid of Washington; his sister, Dia Tucker; his grandchildren, Zachary and Haizley Braid; as well as several nieces and nephews. Terry was preceded in death by both parents, Donald and Harriet Braid. Services will be held on Friday, January 17th at the Medical Lake Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held, following Memorial Services at the Golden Corral: 7117 N. Division St., Spokane, Washington. Please share your memories of Terry at www.belltowerfuneralhome.com. Bell Tower Funeral Home and Crematory is entrusted with services
