Obituary of John Michael Minden

Beloved father, grandfather, uncle and friend, John Michael Minden, passed away at Kootenai Health of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho of February 7, 2020. John was born on May 13, 1947; the son of George and Gene (Sundeen) Minden of Lewiston, Idaho. John graduated from Lewiston High School class of 1966 and followed with attending the University of Idaho, graduating class of 1977. His passion in life, architecture, lead him to Western Washington where he opened JM Architects in Bellevue. Private, multi-residential, vacation and commercial projects are still found in the SeaTac area that he helped design. Friendship was very important to John, many he kept over his lifetime. He was an avid traveler and enjoyed visiting with his family and friends. John enjoyed reading, loved the outdoors, elk hunting and looking for treasures he could sell in his consignment booths. As an avid sports fan he was always rooting the local team and his beloved Alma Matter, the U of I Vandals. John was a Benefactor Life Member of the NRA where he proudly served as a recruiter and Vice Chairman for the local Friends of the NRA. John is survived by his daughters, Janelle (Bryan) Swanson and Gena (Drew) Perez; his grandchildren: Kayla Self, Cody Self and Dylan Swanson; his niece, Debbie Minden; and nephews, Gene and James Minden. John was preceded in death by both parents, George and Gene Minden; as well as his brother Monte Minden. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the donors local chapter of the NRA or the National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
