My Dad was not only a wonderful dad, he was one of my very best friends. I loved spending time with him. I remember during my school years, walking a few blocks away from our house to meet him on his drive home from work. I would watch the clock to time it perfectly. He would pick me up and we would get to share a few minutes together before arriving home. He always encouraged me and made me feel like I was someone special.
It was so wonderful to sit by him in church and hold his hand during prayers and listen to him sing. I did this as a child and an adult. People would come looking for him at church because they loved his sense of humor and the way he cared about each friend.
He was my partner in crime, when it came to hunting down the chocolate chips that Mom would hide to bake cookies. We usually found them, even though mom had great hiding places.
There simply isn't enough space to write about all the things that I will miss about him. I look forward to seeing him again some day, along with Will. There is no doubt that his laugh is being heard in heaven. I will miss him very much!

There is no problem telling numerous memories about Dad from a son's point of view. There are so many special times I had with my Dad. Here are a few memories of Dad.
One time while camping in our tent at the Diablo State Park near San Fransico a strange thing happened. About 1:00 AM in the morning we were awakened by a noise on the outside of the tent. The zipper on the tent was being pulled down very slowly. Dad woke up by Mom grab a stick or something to hit the individual trying to open the tent. All of us were scared that someone was going to hurt us in our tent, primarily because we were in the SF area. The zipper was pulled down further and further and just about the time Dad was going to strike the individual... a raccoon stuck his paw into the tent. Dad made a noise and the raccoon ran away.
Another memory with Dad his is love of ping pong. He taught me the skill of putting English on the ball and other tricks when playing ping pong. He was so good because he would play ping pong at break time at his workplace. I admired the speed and how he could hit the edge of the table and stand "way back" and slam the ball.
Dad was a very hard worker and his favorite thing was placing concrete. He loved to work with concrete and admire his workmanship at the end of the project. His favorite saying was to tease me by saying, "I got a concrete truck coming in a few more minutes, are you ready? AGHH !
I will miss my Dad and his wonderful sense of humor. He was a special Dad.

I will always rememeber grandpa's love for chocolate. He loved when we would come visit him at the nursing home and bring him a dark chocolate kiss or a frosty from Wendy's. I will miss getting to go and have church with him and getting to sing with him on those special Sunday's.
