Violet Kenck, age 89, passed away at her home, Guardian Angel, on September 20, 2012. She was born Sept 11, 1923 to Ernest and Amanda Haynes in Spokane, WA. Violet attended Rogers High School in Spokane, and later graduated High School in Colby, Kansas. After graduation during WWII, she worked as a machinist in the shipyards in Bremerton, WA and was a bull lift operator in Spokane at the Navel Supply Depot. When the war effort was over, she moved with her family to the McGuire area in Post Falls. She was a Rural Mail Carrier in Post Falls and retired after 32 years from the US Postal Service. Violet is survived by her brother Jim Haynes of Spokane, daughter Nancy MacClanathan and son Larry Kenck both of Post Falls, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a community activist and supporter throughout the years as well as deeply involved with the school district and activities. After retirement, Violet was very honored to give her time to the Post Falls Senior Citizens Thrift Store, the Dirne Medical Center, and the Post Falls Visitor Center. As per her request, there will be no services held.
