I hold many many fond memories of growing up with Dick and w orking on carss in his fathers garage. In later years when he and Camille lived out near Lofal NIck Herrick and I would take our projects out to his shop. Dick was always welcoming and more than happy to help. On two seperate occasions he manufactured from stock material a special unique part for me. One was a tiny little brass worm gear so that I could get an old upright Victrola record player palying again, and the other was a special brass stem to a burner's gas valve on a Thermador gas range that had broken and that Thermador no longer made. He was a genius with mechanical stuff and machines. He was into gund and we were too. HIs collection was awe inspiring. I looked up to Dick, he was a great model for us younger guys. One of my most favorite people. I was blessed to have grown up behind him, and to have known him for all these many years. I will miss him dearly, as will we all who knew him.
