Donald E. Hedrick passed away peacefully on January 3rd, 2021 at home with his beloved wife of 39 years, Sylvia (Flagg) Hedrick. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marie Hedrick. He is survived by his two children, Kristie Contreras and Kellie (Corey) Kraft, and 7 grandchildren, his brother Norm Evans and sister Lois John, several nieces and nephews, many cousins and friends. Don was born on May 1st, 1951 in Pendleton, Oregon. Most of his working life was in road construction as a Weights and Measures Inspector for the state of Oregon. He and Sylvia started their married life in Eastern Oregon and moved to McGregor Lake in northwest Montana in 1994; their little slice of heaven on Earth. They relocated to Spokane, WA in 1996 and ultimately Rathdrum, ID in 2015. Don loved the outdoors; enjoying fishing, hunting. and working in their yard. He was also excellent at carpentry, remodeling several homes and wood crafting making cherished family heirlooms for children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He and his wife enjoyed their church and church family, traveling, and spending time with family. Don, Donnie, Papa, brother, friend, and "Sweetie" will be missed by all, In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Luke Lutheran Church PO Box 28948 Spokane, WA or Hospice of North Idaho, 2290 W. Prairie Avenue Coeur D'alene, Idaho 83815. A celebration of life will be held in May of 2021. Dear Don, thank you for being our angel. I hope those wings aren't too heavy.
