My Granny Dorothy could best be described as the "quintessential sweet little old lady". My every memory of her rings with her sweet laugh and gentle demeanor. As a small child I was fascinated with her hands and one of my favorite things to do was look at her family birthstone ring and twirl it around her finger. Bless her heart, she would patiently tell me whose birthstone was whose every single time I asked! After Papa passed in 1999, she didn't slow down even one bit, and during one of our holiday visits to her trailer in Osburn (which had a wonderful glass cabinet full of fantastic knick-knacks I'd always adored), she was beaming when she'd told us she had mastered Easy Mac and could cook for herself just fine, thank-you-very-much. She may have been diminutive in stature, but she was never short on personality! I'm so glad she's found peace and can be with Papa again.

My sweet Aunt Dorothy seemed happy wherever she was at the time. She was a huge part of so many people's lives in Wallace, ID--knew everyone and always had a smile. I visited she and Uncle Harry in Mesa, AZ, where they both seemed to bask in warm happiness together. The last time I saw her was in her darling little home in Post Falls, where she seemed so very comfortable and content. I will never forget growing taller than her at about age 7...she was tiny, but mighty! I will always remember her as the littler, but older Sister my Dad looked up to...I can only hope she was greeted in heaven with open arms by Uncle Harry, Grandma and Grandpa, and her loving brothers and sister. My love to Cousins Gary, Carol, Doug and their families. Love, Linda
