Out most of my teachers Mr. Harmon stood out the most. He was different the others. I just happened to think of him and googled his name and found out he passed. I remember that his class was structured and boys where taught to open the door for the girls. He went out of his way to teach grade schoolers manors. He also taught us German math for fun and I still remember it. Oddly enough.
Mr. Harmon will be missed but never forgotten

I pray that the family find peace in these hard times. Mr Harmon once one of those teachers you would and will always remember. He didn’t take your excuses lightly and would call it as it was but would also be completely honest and transparent with you. He was an awesome man and will always be remember and will be deeply missed. Thank you mr harmon for teaching us as children when we all made it difficult but your love for your job and educating children shined through everything you did!

Mr. Harmon was my 4th grade teacher at Garwood Elementary in the early 90's. He was a rarity in the teaching community. He had the ability connect with kids like me who weren't exactly angels, nor who pretended to be. I had a deep respect for the man, as much in 4th grade as I do today. I respected him because he was firm, no one dared cross the man, but gentle too. There was never any question that he was in my corner, even when he was laying the law down. He wrote me a note when I graduated from his class that said "Tim, you have all the tools you need to go far in life." He was right. I have gone far, but it wouldn't have been so had it not been for men like Mr. Harmon. I'll never forget the man as long as I live. And, an aside, it's only icing on the cake to know he went on the Glory to be with Jesus.

We have lost another very good man from this life. I thank Larry for helping me to establish "Little Kids Wrestling" through Park and Rec in the '80's. His belief in helping kids stay active aided in establishing many outstanding and successful avenues of endeavor for the kids of Post Falls, including championship-level wrestling at Post Falls High School. Those of use who have coached kids in Post Falls cannot thank Larry enough. He is missed but his legacy lives on.
