Guido Armand (90), a resident of Hayden Lake, Idaho for 31 years passed from our sight on June 4, 2021 in Hayden, Idaho. He was born on January 7, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York to parents Guido and Dora (DePanfilis) Notarmuzi, both from Sulmona, Italy. He spent the first 17 years of his life in Brooklyn and then moved with his immediate family to Los Angeles, California. Guido was a Korean war veteran from June 1951 to March 1953 with the Army’s 7th Infantry Division, earning the Combat Infantryman Badge and the Korean Service Medal with 2 bronze stars. He then returned to Southern California where he subsequently met and married his first wife Marlene (Dierkens). They moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and were married for 17 years, producing 3 children. After they divorced, Guido then met and married Sandra (Gardella). They were married for 48 years, residing in Las Vegas, NV, Flagler Beach, FL and finally Hayden Lake, ID. Guido had a varied and interesting working life doing all kinds of sales from water softeners to insurance in southern California, property management in Las Vegas, real estate broker in Florida and a floral shop owner (Crosby’s Floral Gift) in Coeur d’Alene, ID. In 1971, Guido and Sandy bought a “fixer-upper” house in Hayden Lake, ID and then spent the next 20+ years turning it into a gracious home with a private secret garden. There was nothing he couldn’t do, from installing the heating system to painting and texturing the walls in the entire house, often at the top of tall extension ladders! Guido was a prolific reader and student of metaphysics, religion and all related subjects. He had an open and questioning mind, ready to debate on any subject with anyone! He was also, a musician, playing the accordion, keyboard, guitar, ukulele and harmonica. In addition he taught himself how to type and became computer savvy in his 70’s, writing short stories and submitting them in contests. Guido is survived by his wife, Sandy Armand, Hayden Lake, ID; son Michael Armand, Las Vegas, NV; daughter Michelle Kelly, Las Vegas, NV; son Tony Armand, Brighton, CO; sister Diana Pino, Covina, CA; sister-in-law Rosemary Notar, Beaumont, CA and 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 7 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Guido and Dora, brother Ray Notar and his wife Isobel, brother Roy Notar, brother-in-law Pete Pino and nephew Peter Pino. No formal services are planned.
