Obituary of Tracy Virginia Bohrer

Tracy Virginia Bohrer age 56 of Hayden Idaho passed unexpectedly on July 18th, 2021, in her home in Hayden, Idaho. She was born in Buffalo, New York to Stephen Albert Bohrer and Evelyn “Winkie” Longley Bohrer (maiden name-Thomson) on October 24th, 1964. Tracy grew up in Rancho Palos Verdes, California from the age of two until she graduated from South High School in Redondo Beach, California in 1982. As a teenager, Tracy loved the beach and snow skiing in the mountains of Southern California. She then moved to the east coast where she obtained her New York cosmetology license and lived with loving family members in New England and Western New York until moving to Atlanta, Georgia with her cousin, David Catchpole, in 1992. In Atlanta they opened a thriving beauty salon business which they later sold when she moved in 1998 to Hayden, Idaho to be near her sister Lynn. “Much to her surprise,” Tracy ended up loving and living in North Idaho for the remainder of her life. She had a passion for the beauty industry and made everyone feel special when they sat in her salon chair. She eventually left that line of work due to carpal tunnel issues but brought her love of people to her final career as a caregiver worker for A Compassionate In-Home Care. Tracy was a gifted artist, and her vivid sketches brought the characters she drew to life. She was fondly known by all for her kind heart, wonderful sense of humor, and unconditional love and acceptance of everyone she met. She was quite the character and had some fun nicknames that reflect this: “Red,” “Birdie,” “Vida,” “Auntie Tracy,” “Mama T,” and “Tracy Girl”. She is survived by her former partner of many years and friend until the end, Raymundo Martinez; their son and the “light of her life” Oliver B. Martinez; step-children (whom she loved as her own) Reyanna Whisner, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; Shyanne Best of Post Falls, Idaho; Richard Martinez of Post Falls, Idaho; and Adrian Hardersen of Post Falls, Idaho; her sister Lynn Bohrer Abercrombie of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; her brother-in-law James Clemens of Hurricane, Utah; step-sister Melanie Black of Hayden Lake, Idaho; step-brothers Greg Stinson of New Hampshire and David Stinson of Lomita, California; niece Stephanie St. Marie of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; nephew by marriage Sean St. Marie of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; nephew Bradley McNelis of Post Falls, Idaho; nephew Stephen Abercrombie of Hayden, Idaho; step-nephews Troy Abercrombie of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; Corbin Thicke of Hayden, Idaho; and Jesse Abercrombie of Sandpoint, Idaho; and her great-nephew, Silas St. Marie of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Tracy is also survived by her beloved cat “Pita” whom Ray has graciously given a home. She has many cherished relatives and dear friends from her father’s hometown of Sodus Point, New York. Tracy was preceded in death by her father, Stephen A. Bohrer of Sodus Point, New York; mother, Evelyn T. Bohrer of Hamilton, Ontario Canada; and her sister, Cynthia A. Clemens of Hurricane, Utah; step-mother Janice Bohrer of Vermont; her paternal grandfather, Walter Bohrer of West Virginia, paternal grandmother Virginia Albert Bohrer of Sodus Point, New York; maternal grandfather, Alexander Bell Thomson of Ontario, Canada, maternal grandmother, Evelyn Frances Wiser Ambrose of Prescott, Canada. In lieu of flowers: Oliver Martinez College Fund With the unexpected passing of Oliver's mom, Tracy Bohrer, the family asks for donations to Oliver's college fund in lieu of flowers. Oliver graduated from high school in 2021 with honors. He is pursuing a degree of Funeral and Mortuary Services at Mount Hood CC in Gresham, Oregon.
