Wilbert B. "Willie" Liesenfeld, age 79 of Post Falls ID., passed away on the 1st of October, 2021 at his home. He was born in 1942 in New Ulm, Minnesota to Henry and Clara (Zeig) Liesenfeld. He grew up in New Ulm and attended Country School for 8 years and 1 year at New Ulm Public School. He helped work on the family farm as he was growing up. He then enlisted and served in the Army National Guard for 4 years after that he went into driving trucks with his first job hauling milk cans from farms to the dairy. Later he would drive a truck for Stemford Enterprises, hauling prefab homes in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa. He purchased his own semi and leased it to Anderson Trucking Service of St. Cloud, Minnesota who he worked for the next 25 years hauling oversized loads to 49 States and many Canadian Provinces. He earned many safe driving awards over the years. In June of 1981 he and Jan (Trast) were married in Stillwater, Minnesota. He had a son from his first marriage and acquired 5 step daughters with this 2nd marriage. They lived in Afton, Minnesota until December of 1987 when they moved to Post Falls, Idaho. In 1991 he sold his semi and lowboy trailer and worked as a mechanic for his next door neighbor, Morts Road Oiling for several months. He then went to work in the street department of the city of Post Falls in 1992 and the later part of 1993 he went to work as a mechanic for Post Falls Fire District. He retired from there in April of 2007. He is preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Sister Adeline Bruns of New Ulm, MN, Brother "Sonny" Liesenfeld of New Ulm, MN, Son Michael of Shakopee, MN. and StepDaughter Linette Miller of Spooner, WI. He is survived by his wife Janet of Post Falls, ID., StepDaughters Christina Miller, Shannon (Scott) Matthew of Ft. Bragg, NC., Melanie Baumgartner of Cumberland, WI., Tanya (Lloyd) Williams of Wellton, AZ. Sister Florence (Dan) Halvorson of Manitowoc, WI., Sister Jayne (Tom) Mueller of New Ulm, MN., as well as many nieces and nephews, Step GrandChildren and 5 Great GrandChildren.
