Ronald Ellis McCoy 86 years old went home to his Lord and Savior on 1/29/2022. He passed away at home surrounded by his family in Rathdrum, Idaho. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on March 9, 1935, to Ellis Densmore McCoy and Charlene Drake-McCoy. He grew up in Kansas City, MO and graduated from Northeast High School. He played the trombone in the marching band and also belonged to the R.O.T.C. He also served in the Navy Reserves for 8 years from 1953-1961.
Ronald married Doris Van Camp in 1955 in Kansas City. He worked at Speas Company in Kansas City from 1953 till 1961 when he was promoted as branch manager of the Montebello, CA branch and worked there until 1983. He worked for Paramount Beverage and Morehouse food until he retired and moved to Independence, Missouri. He moved to Idaho in 2017 and lived with his oldest daughter, Rhonda until his passing. Ronald loved fishing and was a great carpenter.
He is survived by 3 daughters, Rhonda Auer, husband Dan, of Rathdrum, ID, Dorene Garrett, of Orange, CA, Kelly Bearden, husband, Joe of Alvarado, TX and his ex-wife, Doris McCoy, of Rathdrum, ID. Eight grandchildren, Brian Auer, Steven Auer, Nicole Auer, Kelsey Garrett, David Keeler, Breanna Williams, Bradley Bearden, and Bryce Bearden. Seven great-grandchildren, Rex Auer, Bailey Auer, Trey Keeler, Lily Keeler, Daxton Keeler, Cash Williams, and Jackson Paschke.
Ronald will be missed by all his family and friends.
