Obituary of KEVIN MC KAY

Kevin Lawrence McKay, 62 years old, died on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at his home in Post Falls, ID. Kevin fought a valiant battle with brain cancer. His strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family and friends carried him through 14 months of a painful struggle. Kevin, the oldest of six children, was born February 14, 1950 in Altadena,CA. to Don and Erma McKay. Kevin received his black belt in Tai Kwondo. It was amazing that he was able to accomplish this with his disabilities. Kevin's greatest asset was his loving kind nature. He never complained about anything. He accepted his life as it was dealt to him, with an innocent and simplistic, happy go lucky attitude, even to the end. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. "Oh Fooey", was one of many of his favorite sayings. Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Don McKay. He is survived by his mother, Erma McKay, sisters; Sharon (Jess) Flores and Teresa (Ken) Houchix and brothers; Jerry (Terry) McKay, Dennis (Barbara) McKay, Brian (Dawn) McKay. Kevin also has 23 nieces and nephews and 16 great nieces and nephews.
