Obituary of Nora Jane Maier

Nora Maier, age 91, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022. Nora was born on November 8, 1931 in Nebraska. She and her family moved to the Spokane area where she met Glenn Maier and they eventually married in October, 1950. They were married for 72 years. Nora & Glenn purchased their first A & W restaurant in the late 1950s and subsequently opened 3 additional drive-ins in the 1960s. Nora continued to work with Glenn in the drive-ins throughout the 60s and 70s.
Nora enjoyed painting and over the years produced a number of paintings that she made available to
family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; her daughter, Mary; as well as her parents and her
brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Maier Andrus and her husband David; her two grandchildren,
Stephanie Reid and her husband Kendall, Christopher Andrus and his wife Cherri; 3 granddaughters
Jordyn, Baylee, Rory Reid; a number of nieces and nephews.
She was loved and will be missed by all. No memorial service is planned at this time.
