Obituary of Nichole Janine Downs

Please share a memory of Nichole to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
We were born in San Jose, CA, on June 4th, 1977. I say, WE, because you were the 1st born daughter! And I followed you 2 minutes later! Twins! My ride or die …. My first best friend! Wombmates! Nichole Janine Downs (45) was born at 9:45 am, Baby A. Because I was Baby B, I got to sit front row into your amazing young life! You were raised on a pig farm in Worley, ID, until we were 15 years, where you became the badass horseback rider! No event you couldn’t win and no horse you couldn’t ride. The best memories were made riding the backroads and hills of Setters Road. 4-H was also a huge part of Nikki’s life. Horses and pigs were her deal. Nikki moved to Post Falls in ’91 where she played softball and met her lifelong friend, Lori. Nikki had a beautiful smile with the best personality that could make any person laugh. Nikki graduated from Post Falls High School in 1995 and instantly started working at the bank inside Super 1 Foods where she continued to meet the entire city of Post Falls. If she didn’t know your name, she knew your acct! She met and fell in love with Randy Carpenter. They had a beautiful daughter together named Elliott Dawn in July of 2002. Even thought their relationship ended they remained friends to raise Elliott. Nikki was the best daughter to her parents, Rick and Casey. And the best sister to her 7 siblings, Jason, Carrie, Jeremiah, Jessica, Travis, Rebecca, and Joe. She was an amazing auntie to her nieces and nephews. We loved her so much! In April, 2016, she welcomed the little man of her life, Wyatt Arek. She was so excited to be a mom again and she had 2 babies! She loved her kids so much! Nikki had type 2 diabetes and 1/3 of her pancreas and this made my sister’s health very frail. She was a fighter through all her illnesses, her addiction, her diabetes, and because of this, she lost her battle with diabetes on March 19, 2023. She went to sleep and stayed peacefully asleep, in the arms of Jesus! A Celebration of Life will be held June 4, 2023, 12:00-4:00pm, at Corbin Park, Post Falls.
