Jim also attended Frederick College in (now) Suffolk, VA the first year it was established as a private four year college (it closed in 1968)as a Freshman for one year. He was a charter member and first President of the IMPS fraternity (KA nationally). Although I never knew Jim, the few brothers I have spoken to who knew him endorse the obit description of him... as evidenced he was an IMPS brother! To see him as a freshman and know moreabout him, go to http://www.frederickalums.org/IMPS/IMPS.html and scroll to IMPS Annual Reunions. Jim is missed, RIP our Brother.

My coldences to Eddie & Cathy in the loss of their father. I first met Jim when he was a contractor at Dam Neck in the late sixties. Jim and I have been friends for the past 40 some years since then. We had many good times over the years Pig Roasts, Redskin Football games & Washington DC trips, Harborfest, and Mardi Gras. In the seventy’s & eighty’s Jim was an off & on roommate of mine when he traveled to Va. Beach. He was always a lot of fun to be around and enjoyed all the parties and good times. Jim had a great personality, a quick wit and good sense of humor …he loved to party and all his friends loved him. He loved fly fishing to relax; he always had the latest gadget…I remember when he had one of the first cell phones on the market...it was huge by today’s standards. We will all miss Jim very much. My sympathy is with his family.

I met Jim many, many years ago when he was a defense contractor & I worked for the Government @ Dam Neck. His warm personality and humor sealed a decades long friendship that I will always cherish. Jim was "a character" in the best sense and his humor quick wit is legendary. My sincere sympathy is with the family but oh the memories he left for you guys. Virginia Beach, VA

I will miss Jim so much; the wine festivals, LaPetite, Mardi Gras parties, cooking for parties, and his dry sense of humor. We stayed in touch even though he was no longer in Fredericksburg. He was a friend to everyone and always had me hanging on his every word when he would tell stories of all the crazy and not so crazy things he used to do. A bright light has definitely gone out for all of us. Jim you were the best.
