My deepest condolences to your family. It is my pleasure to work with your granddaughter, Emily. She is doing so well getting prepared for community employment. I know you are proud of her. May God's blessings be on your family during this difficult time.

I suppose we're supposed to write a memory or whatnot, but I'm going to write as though I'm speaking to Grandpa. Grandpa, I'm going to miss you. More than I could have guessed and more than you'll ever know. I'm sad you didn't get to see me turn 18 or be there for my graduation. I picked a senior picture specifically for you. My hair's down; the way you liked it. I don't think I'll ever cut it now. I'm glad I was able to be with you during this last month. I'll never forget it. Nor shall I forget the way you made me laugh. You could always make me feel better no matter how crappy I felt. I'm going to miss your hugs and your laugh and your smile; the way you always made fun of us. I'm going to miss your eyes, the prettiest blue I've ever seen. We always talked about your eyes. You told me they weren't blue originally, but they ended up that way. I remember when you would come inside after having a smoke, then stick your hands on my neck. It'd freeze me out every time. Thank you for letting me hold your hands. They were usually so warm and so much bigger than mine. Thank you for moving to Idaho so I could see you more often. It's going to be hard when I want to talk to you and I can't. At least not face to face. I haven't stopped talking to you really. I know I'll see you again, but I also know it won't be for a long time. That's the part that hurts. You were literally the only person who could make me do dishes. I remember when I stayed with you in the summer for a week or so. We sat and talked and listened to old country music. We watched shows like Criminal Minds, Castle, and the Mentalist. All of which I still watch today. You even have me watching the news when it comes on. I love you so much. The world is a little bit sadder and lonelier with you gone. I nor it will ever be the same. Thank you for your love and everything else you gave me and everything you left behind. I love you Grandpa. Forever and always. Love, Katelynn
