Karla was the most positive and bravest person I have ever met. She met cancer head on and fought hard. I have no doubt she is now in Heaven sharing that sweet disposition of hers and figuring out projects for all. We will miss her so very much. My thoughts and prayers are with Tim, Alyssa, Nate and Emily now.

I so miss my dear friend, she wasn't beautiful she is beautiful, she wasn't loving, she is loving. She wasn't kind she is kind. She understands eternity more than ever now, we can feel her love whenever it is needed in our lives. Families will be together forever if we choose that path to live, Karla choose that path.

I too was a classmate of Karla's and I want to express my condolences to her family and loved ones. When I think back on my youth I always travel back to my time at Drummond and the many great friends and classmates that were part of my life then. I still find that the class of 76 makes up a large part of my memories from my younger years and will always have a special place in my heart. In my minds eye I can still see Karla as one of the class leaders, always willing to participate in all events and always with that wonderful smile of hers. I, unfortunately, did not keep in touch with Karla through the years other than a couple of class reunions. She will be missed by me and will always be a part of my great memories of my youthful years at DHS.

I don't really have a specific story- just thought I would write and say good-bye to an old friend. Karla and I were friends since we sat next to each other in the first grade in the old Drummond Grade school. We went to school together for the next 12 years and shared many good memories of those times. I lived a mile or so as the crow flies from their ranch. Lawrence Nelson and I would walk over to "hang out" with the Brunette sisters. We were in 4-H together -so did many activities with the old "Lucky Clover" group from kids from all over the valley. There were school plays, dances, sporting events, church activities and many other experiences that were shared. She was smart, had a good sense of humor, always up to go do something crazy and have fun. I haven't spoken to her for over a year and wish now I would have taken the time to check up on and how she was doing. Losing an old friend makes you check in the mirror and recognize your own mortality. Good-bye old friend- knowing you made me a better person and I will always remember the lives we shared growing up in the Flint Creek Valley. You will be missed. Thank you- Joe Todd

All my memories of Karla are filled with lovely smiles, warm conversations and just an overall feeling of peace. I really enjoyed the few times I was able to visit with her at the Brunett/Betzler reunions in Lincoln, MT. She was always knitting or crafting and would carry on such a pleasant exchange that would make everyone around her feel special. I'm sure Jesus was very happy to bring her home although it is difficult for us who are left here on earth, but that is all just temporary. You are all so fortunate to have had her as a part of your life. Many thoughts and blessings are sent your way. Hugs to you all!

Kerry, I am so sorry to hear about Karla. She was an inspiration to all of us at the bank. I loved seeing her smiling face whenever she came through the drive up and when I needed a great sandwich. She will be missed by all of us that knew her. I loved seeing all of her many different looks by her ability to change her hairstyle. I complimented her on the one style and told her I wish my hair would do what hers did. She thanked me and then when I wouldn't quit talking about how great it made her face look, she leaned in and said ... Kathy ... it is a wig. I told her I didn't care what it was because she looked beautiful with that style. We both laughed about it. She was a remarkable woman that was loved by so many. May Heavenly Father give your family some peace knowing she is now out of pain and in a much better place. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. xoxoxoxo

My heart goes out to Karla's family and friends. I remember Karla as one of the sweetest, kindest and most intelligent person I knew. We were blessed to have known Karla, from that first day in elementary school to the hay rides every fall at the Brunette Ranch. I am sad the I hadn't stopped to visit Karla lately, the last time was about 2 years ago we had a Subway sandwich at her shop. Karla had such nice humor, joking about both of our hair loss Karla's through treatment and mine due to age. Karla will be deeply missed.

My heart cries for the family members of this wonderful young lady. I knew her in High School and sad to say we never kept in touch. Karla was a very special, kind person. "...the good die young" is very true. Rest in peace, Karla, I will never forgot you.
