This first Christmas without Dad brings back so many memories. They make me smile, laugh and cry. Decorating the tree with never be the same without him supervising the ornaments, lights and tinsel. Mom & Dad's old Christmas tree quit working this year and I found 5 extension cords taped together at the bottom for all the lights he had added on, Just like Dad. There can't be any fudge this year either, can't bring myself to carry on that tradition just yet. Dad loved Christmas and loved his family.....Really miss my Dad.

The only trouble with living life, is along with all of the good, that we have, we have to lose people that we love and some of those people are the, "Cornerstones of what makes a family a family and makes it so strong and wonderful." Uncle Bill was indeed, "One of the fine Cornerstones of the Howell Family." Uncle Bill & Aunt Blanche were always there for me when and if I needed them. Uncle Bill was always, "Looking for gold." I don't know if he ever found any, but I know that my life was more Golden, because he was in my life. I loved him and I will miss him. Uncle Bill, I know that you are with all of the others that have gone on, "Fishing and playing in that, Goldmine in the sky." Save me a spot as well. Judy

I am so sorry to hear of your dad's passing away. I know how much you loved him, and how much your heart aches that he is no longer with you. Although I didn't have a chance to meet your dad, you stories about him warmed my heart and you love for him was so very obvious. I'm so glad you were able to be with him his last days. His heart was comforted by your return and I feel he was at peace. My heart is with you, and your family. I feel that you always shared part of you dad with us in Alaska as he was so much a part of you. We miss you, Anne

Dear Roberta, I am sorry to hear of your father's passing. Having lost my mother a few years ago, I know it is difficult to realize the loss for a long time. Your father will always be with you so long as you have a memory of him. But his passing is also a reminder that without God, very little is possible, as through God, we will be with those we love. Your parents must have been/are wonderful people because I had the honor to know you and they had something to do with the person you became.
