This was sent to me by our brother Steve,,it read:
To Jerry Hand ---Prince of Cool------
Don't grieve for me for now I'm Free,
I took his hand when I heard him call,
I turned my back and left it all,if my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy,My life has been so full,I savored so much,
Good friends,Good times,A loved ones touch,A friendship shared,a laugh,a kiss,
Ah yes these things,I too will miss.
Perhaps my time seemed all to brief, don't lengthen it now with your grief,
Lift up your hearts and share with me,God welcomed me home,,He has set me Free,

Jerry was such a good man,he was my sweetest brother!!My earliest memories of him - how he use to read to me at bedtime when I was a little girl, then pull the covers up to my neck and tuck them in all nice and tight. He always gave people nicknames,I was D.J.,Dale was R.D.,Pop was Codger,Celena was Rascal,Serena was Oak,Jay was Buddy Boy,,LOL,will try to think of more,He usually had something nice to say to everyone, and was known for his politeness,He was very shy growing up,however he did get over that,he was an honest man,and if he gave you his word, that was gold!!!I could talk to Jer about anything, and I knew it would never go any further,,I'll miss him everyday, and will always look up to him,

I will always remember Uncle Jerry for his kind heart. I have wonderful memories of going to his house when I was a kid. It was a place for adventure for sure. My cousins, sisters and I would swim in the big ditch, climb and hide in the hay bails and play in all the old cars. Uncle Jerry was so proud of me riding the pony Misty Star bareback using a piece of bailing twine for a bridle. I remember Uncle Jerry and Uncle Dale breaking horses down in the coral. They were the bravest men I have ever known and will miss them forever.

When I met Jerry I was 17 and he was 23 and had just returned from Viet Nam. I saw his beautiful blonde hair, sparkling blue eyes and I pursued him relentlessly. We created two beautiful children together and I remember his tears of joy the first time he saw you both. I am so happy that he got to spend the last year of his life spending time with this children and grandchildren. I will take with me the memories of his love for his children and of course the laughter and joy of our time together.
