Every time we visited Grandma and Grandpa my brothers and I were always excited to go next door to Aunt Janet's! I remember her bunnies and the enormous amount of pets she always seemed to own! I know it has been a couple weeks, but Janet has been on my mind. I ate lunch with her everyday for several years and she was truly the happiest person I ever met. We used to even tease her about everything being sunshine and rainbows. I miss that. Also oddly enough, because we ate lunch everyday I think of her whenever I hear about pickled herring...I still think it's gross but it makes me smile because of her. So here's to sunshine and rainbows...love you Janet.

I spent alot of time with Janet in high school and considered her a good friend. I was happy I was able to attend her fundraiser in 2010 at the Kroc Center to help support my friend. In a way, I'm sorry to see her leave this earth because she was always such a bubbly, friendly & happy person even though she was so sick with breast cancer but in another way, I'm glad that she's gone because now she won't have to suffer anymore. She told me that she's been in pain for such a long time (I was home for a visit about 6 yrs ago when she told me) and after I moved back to Cd'A, I was able to see her a few more times. She always had a positive attitude and I think that and our prayers helped her beat breast cancer for the 10 yrs. she had it. To Janet's family: you are so so so lucky to have that wonderful woman in your lives and as a part of your family. Treasure your memories of her and the positive effect she had on everyone in her life. When you feel yourself getting sad, think of how she always had something nice to say about everyone and what she brought to your family. I pray for your healing in this sad time. Always remember that Janet is now with God in heaven and she's OUT OF PAIN! God Bless you.

I only knew Janet for a short time after she joined the Blazen Divaz. I know the friendships she formed with the group were very important to Janet. She was a wonderful lady and I know she will be missed immensely by all her family and friends. God Bless.

Janet, your presence will be missed. I know you must be looking down from heaven on your family, plus enjoying your new home with the Lord. Our condolences, prays for comfort and strength go out to your family as they deal with your absence. I had truly hoped to see you again. During high-school you seemed to always have a cheerful attitude,kind word, and lots of empathy. In college, your sense of humor kept me laughing and smiling even when laughter had to be stifled like the time you entered and I believe won the "goldfish eating contest...31 or near that" and then you turned to me and said I feel pinching in my stomach. I was so thankful that I was able to attend Janet's memorial today. I haven't had any contact with Janet since going to school at Cd'A High but I will remember her as someone who had no enemies. A very sweet, kind and gentle person who was respectful to all her classmates. At the sharing today, I saw a lot of people who had the honor of Janet's presence in their life. Janet: I love you so much! I'm so glad your not suffering anymore; but will miss you very dearly! Every time our family would get together you were always happy and filled with fun! I met Janet after my son Eric Duffy met and become lifelong friends with her son, Josh. In kindergarten.(1985!) Janet was such a warm and welcoming person. She immediately included my son into all the many Manderville dinners and events. He also got an extra grandma and grandpa in the deal. This picture of Janet is how I remember her so well. Watching over her family.Or awaiting their arrival. With such a beautiful smile. At the little brown house at the end of the lane. I knew my son Eric was safe and sheltered there. Surrounded by love, laughter and good food. And a wonderful mom, Janet watching over them all. This is a belated thank you Janet. For all you did for my son. Her life truly exemplified the epitome of courage, and the warm and glowing brightness of her friendship and love for all those around her, is something this world needs a lot more of. May we take the rest of the days we have on this earth. And live them, Like Janet would have liked us to. Spending more time with friends and family. Making memories, and laughter, and more time with them: a priority. Janet's friends, family and community will forever miss her. I met Janet in the early70's. We enjoyed going to sporting events,working in her yard,dancing,drinking red beer and talking about the future. I was at her house one afternoon,her mom was showing her how to knit or crochet(one of them).I later learned that was one of her hobbies. Due to circumstances we drifted apart,and reunited last August at her benefit. We reminised some,laughed,and asked about each others lives. She later e-mailed me and gracefully said,"Thank You for coming back into our lives". Iread the stories others have written,and thankfully Janet had a great life with wonderful friends and family. I only wish I could have been a part of that somewhere in between. I will keep my memories of her close to my heart. God Bless her family everyday!!

I was so sorry to hear of Janet's passing. She was my first best Bud. We were best friends until she moved away. I was heartbroken when she left. I was so pleased when Janet and Helen came back to Pinehurst to check on the old neighborhood after we were grown and out of high school She was beautiful inside and out. Janet was the most positive person I think I ever met. Never have I seen anyone able to make so much lemonade out of so many lemons. Janet's glass was alway half full......Working with Janet was a highlight in my life. So many memories came flooding back after I heard of her passing, and everyone of them brought a smile to my face.We used to tease Janet about her ability to plant a garden, make the jam, clean her laundry room, make herself a big breakfast, whip up a "polar fleece" vest and all before she came to work!!!!! Janet truly loved life and everyday to her was a blessing. Working with her everyday was a blessing too. Whenever I think of Janet, I will always "Thnk Happy Thoughts"! And "Polar Fleece" will always make me smile! Thanks for the memories......
