Obituary of Blaine Hess

Blaine Hess, 78 Blaine Hess peacefully passed away at his home in Plummer on July 9, 2011, with many of his family members there. He was born July 4, 1933, in Aberdeen to James Archie Hess and Martha Pierson. Blaine married Alice F. Peters on Jan. 7, 1961. There were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on Jan. 2, 1973. Blaine's seven children are Charlotte Nelson, Marcia Goins, Rene'e Thompson married to Calvin Thompson, Stephen Price, Leticia Kennar married to Mika Kennar, Darrell Hess and R. Allen Hess married to Rene Hess. He and Alice also adopted George Gladding, Dennis Spangler, Larry Cummins and Debbie Hall married to Leroy Hall. Blaine and his wife also took in 96 foster children over the years. He has 35 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. Blained retired in 1987 from Boeing in Seattle as a shear operator. He moved to Plummer in 1999 where he resided with his wife, Alice, until her passing on March 16, 2002. Blaine was a member of the Plummer Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he was loved by many. Blaine was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; his parents; three brothers and two sisters. Viewing will be held from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at the LDS Church, 354 "A" St., Plummer. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the the Evergreen Cemetery in Plummer. Blaine will be deeply missed by his family whom he loved so much.
