We will miss Patsy very much. Whenever we were visiting Patsy in Post Falls, Idaho, it was always fun to be with her because she had such a great laugh and a wonderful smile. She was a lady with many attributes. She was kind, caring, loving, fun, had a big heart, and she was very beautiful. Our sympathy goes out to the family and friends. Wish we could be there. Many hugs are sent your way. Dan & Sue Holt, Detroit Lakes, MN.

I hope you dance is a song by Leanne Womack. My mom and I discovered it together just after my brother Bryan passed away.
We were in the car headed to the mall for Sears big sale. When the song came on the radio. The conversation fell away not even half way through the song and I could tell she loved it as much as I did.
She smiled and told me again that when she was younger, she wanted to be a dancer. We sat in the parking lot and chatted like old girlfriends about dancing, having fun, and not letting the moment pass you by.
I reminded her of us dancing when I was very little. She put Tiny Bubbles on the record player and we danced, though I mostly giggled. It was then that I realized dancing was our thing.
I thought about trying to teach her the "Bus Stop" in high school, Us coming home from the Pow Wow and channeling our inner "White Cloud" as we danced around the kitchen. She wasn't half bad!.. though that dance did earn me a nickname from Grandma, Little White Dove. I was PROUD!
A few months later she called me and surprised ME. She had signed us up to take line dancing together. I was surprised and happy that she wanted to share it with me. We had so much fun and as always .. she was noticed.
Timing and direction are pretty much key in line dancing. Well, mom went left when the rest went right, she kicked when we stomped and stomped when we kicked.
She Would stop in the middle of the floor and break out in fits of laughter, by the end of class the teacher was next to her and the whole class was laughing along with mom.
I hope you dance is a song, a dream, a bond and the gift she gave me. She taught me that the wrong turn can be the funniest part of the whole journey,
Sometimes you have to kick up your heels, you should never let the moment pass you by, follow your instincts right or wrong, laughter really is the best medicine, love really is forever and when you get the chance to sit it out or dance I hope you dance.
Mom, it may not have been exactly what you had in mind, but in my heart you have been and always will be a dancer.
I am forever touched and truly blessed because of your love. I promise I will do my best to never let the moment pass me by and if I ever get the chance to sit it out or dance..
I will DANCE!
I love you always, Dana Lynn

I was 26 when I got my first tattoo. It was small, simple and had a point. Brush and palette with my name in it.I was so proud.. WOW was that clever!! This tattoo shouts ARTIST!! I was nervous to see mom next, what would she say? Her first reaction? IS THAT REAL?? Then, she looked for a moment and said " Wellllll, at least its small and does have meaning. I guess it is tasteful." I thought " wow, after all these years of waiting?? She is ok with it??" Well, you know I went back out and got another and yes even another. I found something I loved .. a passion. This small tattoo started a ritual between my mom and me. I like to call it .. What did you get this time?? it always ended with her saying " Are you done now?" and me ... " we will see"
When my brother Bryan passed away we were both so very lost. I had never seen my mom that way. She looked at me one day and said .. things will never be the same! With a look and tears in her eyes. She was right. I wanted to find a way to show love and remember him. I sat down and drew a cherub. It was small, simple and it had a point. A cherub with Bry on the ribbon at his feet. I had it put on my shoulder..something we shared. When Mom saw it she looked for a moment and with those same tears in her eyes she said " I want one too" WOW!! I am sure the look on my face could have won me some money on funniest home videos but we had not recorded this mind blowing moment. We talked for bit and I knew she meant it. Matching tattoos? MOM AND ME?? I would have never guessed it in a million.
When tattoo day rolled around I was so excited and yes even nervous. What if she changes her mind? Worse, what if she doesn't? How can I drag my mom in to sit in pain? Wellll, the car ride to the tattoo shop was long.. I started to panic!! What if??? What if she hurts to bad? What if she doesn't like it? .. I only had a moment of worry were I thought what if she loves it? Will she look like the tattooed lady in a few years? That passed quickly.
When we walked inside the shop I was focused on her,my heart pounding , watching every expression and waiting for the reaction. Her eyes were big as she glanced from the sheets of tattoo designs to the uncensored art on the walls. The tattooist is a friend of mind and has been since my first tattoo. He was almost as excited as I was to give mom a tattoo. So, when he came around the corner grinning from ear to ear and extending his arm out like a little kid who's brought a construction paper drawing home to mom.I knew he was up to something... As I took the orange traffic cone colored magnet from his hand I saw that it was for his shop and it said ... I TATTOOED YOUR MOTHER on it. We all stood there and had a good laugh.
Once she was in the chair .. ohh the nerves but I stood there proud, and smiling and encouraging all the way. So, when he asked if we would like music. I blurted out with out one thought.. " OHH YEAHH, LETS GIVE HER THE FULL TATTOO EXPERIENCE" She shot me a look.. yep there's the big eyes again. And.. we were off, pounding rock music, the buzz of his tattoo machine and the smell of A and D ointment in the room. She sat, still, calm and collected.. she made a few faces, scrunched her nose and at one point I wondered if I would be making it home ALIVE. In the end her tattoo was beautiful and matched mine place and design. We stood together with our backs turned to the mirror and looked back to " see" our matching tattoos. In that moment I was amazed by her and I realized just how special she was. I also knew we would be connected forever.. no matter what. When we stepped outside with our matching tattoos and evil grins I asked .. " Soooo how was it mom?" She looked at me smiling.. " He just kept drilling and drilling and I know it was in the same spot!!" I busted up laughing. Mom and I talked about that day often and two years later she got a tattoo of butterflies on her ankle with my name. I will be forever touched. My mom had class, humor and under it all HEART! I love you mom!!
Small, simple and to the point .. Mom, it's all done now. We will see each other again one day... Love you always, Dana Lynn
