Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John “Jack” Forbes Fraser Jr., son of John Sr. and Gertrude Fraser, was born on June 5th, 1929 in Oak Park, Illinois. He graduated from Harvard in 1951 and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. His military stint was cut short after being wounded and he was discharged returning home to Illinois, where he married Annette Jane Johnson on July 25th, 1953. He and Annette had 6 children together. He worked in advertising, construction, real estate development and acquisition over the years, traveling to Europe, Belize and the U.S. during his endeavors. Jack relocated to Spirit Lake, Idaho to be close to his grandchildren and family. He found time to enjoy the relaxed environment, books (his favorite pastime), and new friends. He spent many an evening at “Jo’s Hole” where he enjoyed camaraderie and good cheer. Jack became known as a unique individual while living in Spirit Lake and was written up in a full page article in the Spokemans-Review newspaper. He spent time writing poetry and his personal rambling thoughts where many are recorded in his published book titled “Thoughts”. Jack was preceded in death by his son Andrew. He is survived by his first wife Annette Fraser-Runnalls, their remaining children John, Doug, Cameron, Mary and Alexander; Peter his son. His grandchildren: Alexander J., Bailey, Megan, Lizzy, Scott, Shannon, Clara, Alexander L., Jenna and Garrett. His brother Gale Fraser’s family, sister Jane Steuber’s family and an honorary son Robert Griffiths. In Dad’s tongue and cheek humor, he left a “thought” written in his wishes that if anyone was so interested to contribute to a charity in his name these were his favorites: The Little Sisters of the Poor football team The Foundation for the Very Disturbed (His Favorite) The Foundation for Victims of Downsizing The Dislzczic Foundation
