M. Joyce Peterson, of Spokane, WA, died on Wednesday September 10, 2014. She was 75. She was born on Oct 3, 1939 in Pocatello, ID to Herbert and Revah Carlyle. She attended Pocatello, High School and Idaho State University where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science. She became a teacher, teaching in Oregon, California and Washington where she met and married Dean H. Peterson in the Idaho Falls, Idaho Temple on April 2, 1971. Together they had 5 children, Erik, Joetta, Corey, Justin and Travis. She was a wife and a mother first but found time for many hobbies and adventures and became a passionate genealogist. She has spent her last few years taking the time sharing and teaching family history work to many. Joyce has 13 grandchildren and is survived by her husband Dean, and sons Erik, Corey, Justin, and Travis. Additionally her brother Tom Carlyle and sisters Leslie Steed and Gwen Wilson survive her. The funeral will be held Tuesday 10:00 am September 16, 2014 at the Shawnee LDS Chapel located at 5001 W Shawnee Ave, Spokane, WA 99208.
