Obituary of J.T. Victor Hunnicutt

JT Victor Hunnicutt, 64, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2015, surrounded by family in his Silverton, Idaho home. JT was born in Brannenburg, Germany on June 28, 1950 to Tamara Ewstratowa and John Thomas Hunnicutt. His mother immigrated to the US shortly after his birth and settled in Arizona. It is there he spent his childhood with his two brothers, Mark and Lennis Hunnicutt. JT was a Vietnam veteran. He served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1969-1975. After discharge he attended college and graduated from Ariprivia College with a degree in Diesel Technology. He married Julie Smith in 1975. They raised four children. JT worked and traveled extensively throughout his career as a Maintenance Mechanic in the Mining Industry. JT was a skilled mechanic and considered himself a genuine “tramp miner”, as he worked for dozens of mining contractors and companies during his lifetime. He made many friends and enjoyed the comradery of his coworkers. He had a great love for family. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours fishing, hunting, camping and boating. JT is survived by his current wife, Kristi (Nicholson) Hunnicutt. Brothers: Mark (Bettina) and Lennis Hunnicutt. Daughters: Victoria Tarr (Andrew) and Michele Rutherford. Step children: Rudy Romo (Desiree), Carl Pierson and Jessica Nicholson. He has six granddaughters, four grandsons and several nieces and nephews. The family invites relatives and friends to join them for a three day, camping, fishing, boating trip. Please bring your own camping equipment, food, supplies, etc. A celebration of his life, will be held in the middle of Lake Elsie so please bring canoe, kayak, inner tubes, or other floating device the weekend of June 26 -28th in Lake Elsie, Osburn, Idaho. JT requested that memorials and donations be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
