Tonya Lee Hancock, age 60, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones at the Hospice House of North Idaho in Hayden, Idaho on March 2nd 2015. Tonya was born April 12, 1954, the 3rd of 4 children to the proud parents of Clois and Bee Fitzhugh in Salinas California.
Shortly after her birth, they moved to Washington where she loved hanging out with her family and friends, water skiing and enjoying all the joys of living in Washington. She graduated from Edmonds High School and after graduating, began her college career at Rick's College in Rexburg, ID. After obtaining her associates degree, she headed down to Provo, Utah where she finished up her bachelors degree in Recreational Therapy. There she met and married Steve Hancock in the Salt Lake City Temple and had three children: Clois Paul, Tyler and Kinslee. She later divorced and moved to Sandy, Utah where she had her youngest son Wesley. Tonya adored working with the elderly and fulfilled one of her dreams working as a Recreational Therapist for Salt Lake City County.
In 1994, Tonya moved her family to Salmon, ID where she started one of her most memorable family ventures of being the owner of Savage Circle, a local restaurant in town. Tonya loved Salmon! She enjoyed both the people, and the outdoors. One of her joys in life was spending time with her grandchildren and riding her horse Chica.
Tonya was very spirited and could always light up the room with her smile and Charisma. Tonya was loving, kind, and always willing to help anyone in need. Her presence and memory will always be cherished. She was preceeded in death by her son Tyler. She is survived by her parents Clois and Bee, her sons Paul and Wesley, her daughter Kinslee, 10 grandchildren, her sister Elaine and brothers Dean and Chris.
