Obituary of Robert Stephen Nevrly Sr.
Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert Nevrly, Sr. was 75 years old when he lost his battle to a complication after surgery. The love he had for his wife of 52 years, is a love you usually see in movies. His world spun around hers even when he was in the Army thousands of miles away. She was his ticket to heaven where he sits smiling down upon us.
Robert is survived by his wife Carol Mary (Villardito) Nevrly, his beloved sons Robert Jr. and his husband Ernie, Anthony and his wife Mary, and his beautiful daughter Dana and her husband Todd. He is also survived by his wife's crazy sisters Josephine, MaryJane, and Anna Pearl whom he called his own sisters. He loved them deeply. Robert had many nieces and nephews in his life who he took care of like his own. What is most memorable about Robert is his love for his grandchildren. He loved watching them grow to become their own unique individuals. He couldn't have been more proud of his grandsons Chase, Nolan, Brooks, and Noah and his darling granddaughters Sara, Maggie, and Lucy, or his grand dogs Boris, Natasha, Gimli, Nigel, Lucy, and Zeus. Let's not forget his son Luigi the cat! This was his baby.
Robert, our father, loved taking his children to Pirate Land Campground in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Many fantastic memories were created by Dad when he would walk down the beach and swim back towards his children playing Jaws. He loved to walk the beach with his kids, finding shells, and building sand castles. He introduced us to albums he loved, some we still listen to today. He was a giant kid himself. Dad was also a practical joker who loved to tell and-or play a joke and took a joke well when directed at him. The shock on his face or in his voice was priceless. He loved playing Santa. If he could have been the real one like Tim Allen in The Santa Clause, he would have traded places.
Dad had his vices. Cheesy Steven Seagal action movies, candy, wads of gum, and a good smoke. He also loved food. He loved to try anything and everything and used his children as Guinea pigs by having them try head cheese, barley and beans that looked like paste, pigs feet, or fatty red meats. How he loved eating these crazy foods.
It will be hard going on without our father. He was an inspiration, a pain, and funny. His smile was infectious. His life was too short. We will miss you dad!! Condolences can be sent to 6913 S. Saddle Ridge Road, Greenacres, WA 99016 in care of Carol Nevrly
