William Harrison Payne born April 6, 1935 in Pittsburgh, Kansas to Elmer and Opal Payne. He loved the mountains and loved to fish, hunt and play pool. It happened that Elk Bend was his place of destiny. He is survived by two brothers; Donald and Ernie Payne, two sisters; Jerry Crain and Dorthy Ball, four children; Kathrine Ellison, William H. Payne Jr., Sandra Morris and Stephanie Picard, 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews as well as many friends. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, girlfriend Vickie, Brother Melvin, two sons James Payne and David Grey, two grandsons William Payne III and Leeland Ogg. Payne passed on October 15.
