Kjare Haldis,
You were my best friend both in Norway and in California. We grew up in Kristiansund N. I had the nice experience of going to high school and Gymnasium with your brother, Ole. When I came to the United States, I was thrilled to learn that you lived nearby in Whittier. You had a beautiful son, Erik, and I had a beautiful daughter, Ingrid, who became fast friends when they were small. We shared many great times together, including Christmas at the Norwegian Seamen's Church in San Pedro with our children. We also shared our upbringing in Norway and told stories about the antics of the people there. You were the life of every dinner party. I will always miss you- there is an open space in my heart.
