Obituary of Marion Nelson Daines

Marion Nelson Daines, a resident of the Spokane area since 1956, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at age ninety-eight on January 7, 2016. Marion, originally from Alberta, Canada, made her home in the valley for the last sixty years. She was a blessing and her life is an inspiration to all who knew her. Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Orson, and eldest son Bernard, and siblings, Reed and David Nelson and Kathleen Sabin. She is survived by four daughters and their spouses: Gail Baltich (Bruce), Suzanne Jones (John), Michele Nelson (Ken), Diane Tippetts (John), and Bernard’s spouse, Marsha. She is also survived by three sons and their spouses: Eric (Debby), Daniel (Lara), and Nolan (Donna) Daines, and siblings Helen Poll, Brian Nelson and Jean Card. Her life will be treasured and fondly remembered by thirty-nine grandchildren and one hundred and four great-grandchildren. Services to celebrate Marion’s life will be held on Monday, January 11th, viewing at 10:00 AM, and funeral at 11:00 AM, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapel, 13608 East Belle Terre Ave., Spokane Valley. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Bell Tower Funeral Home in Post Falls, Idaho. Marion will be interred in the Pines Cemetery.
