Obituary of Eugene John Yarber

Eugene “Louie” John Yarber Sr., 70, of Post Falls, Idaho went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday February 18, 2016 at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. Louie was born February 6, 1946 in Tekoa, Washington to Ralph and Marina (Marquardt) Yarber. Louie grew up in the Benewah Valley near St. Maries Idaho where he attended and graduated from St. Maries High School in 1966.
After graduating, he joined the United States Army and proudly served his county during the Vietnam War. Louie earned several medals including the bronze star for meritorious service. After his honorable discharge he returned to St. Maries where he married Carol Hadley. They were later divorced. He later met Linda Mann and they were married in 1986 in St. Maries.
Louie worked constructing modular homes for Boise Cascade for 8 years and remained in the construction field most of his life.
He was a member of House to House Ministries, the American Legion, St. Maries V.F.W., the NRA, and was a charter member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
Louie loved spending time with his family, and adored his grandchildren. He was also an outdoors man and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and riding four wheedlers. He also loved to watch the Seattle Seahawks, boxing, and UFC.
He will be remembered as the patriarch of his family, and the best father and grandfather one could ask for.
Louie is survived by his loving wife Linda of the family home in Post Falls, Idaho; one Daughter Julie (Sean) Joyce of Coeur d' Alene; one son E.J. Jr. (Tammony) Yarber of Post Falls, Idaho; Stepchildren Robby, Christi and Kenny (Erin) Haynes of St Maries, Idaho; one brother Dale (Judy) Yarber of Rathdrum, Idaho; two sisters Shirley Quigley of St. Maries, Idaho, and Janet Bedwell of St. Maries, Idaho; 16 grandchildren Alex, Daniel, Marie, Kylie Nicole, Caleb, Jacob, Elise, Joel, Hunter, Trent, Kylie Rae, Amanda, Kyra, Ricky, Devin and Silvia, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Louie's life will be held Saturday February 27th, 2016 ~ 11:00 am at Bell Tower Funeral Home 3398 E. Jenalan Ave. Post Falls, Idaho. Immediately following services, a pot-luck reception will be held at Bell Tower Funeral Home.
