Bonnie, Having grown up living next to Fred's family, it seems like our families have shared so many things, both happy and sad. I'm so sorry to hear of Fred's passing. He will be missed by all that had the privilege to know him. When my Dad passed away, someone shared a story that helped me a great deal. The passing of our loved one is like a ship setting sail. We hold on to them as long as we can, and we watch them until their ship passes over the horizon and we can no longer see them. On the other side of the horizon another group is watching and waiting for the guest of honor to arrive for their celebration. Friends and loved ones have been waiting and are now rejoicing and celebrating that his ship has come into sight. What a celebration they must be having tonight! I hope that time, family, friends, and your memories will help you at this time. We will keep your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Last night I had a dream. I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonged to me, the other to the Lord. After the last scene of my life flashed before me, I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that at many times along the path of my life, especially at the very lowest and saddest times, there was only one set of footprints. This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it. "Lord, you said once I decided to follow you, You'd walk with me all the way. But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life, there was only one set of footprints. I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me." The Lord replied, "My son, my precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of suffering, when you could see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

I always enjoyed seeing Fred & Bonnie along with Gene & Rene at the Kootenai County Fair & Rodeo. Without my Grandpa Klawitter there, it was nice have my fellow Spirit Lakers, rodeo lovers and wonderful people to sit next to. Bonnie, I have known your family since I can remember and my prayers are with all of you. I hope you find peace and comfort in your happy memories of Fred. Sincerely, Liz Berg-Comfort

"Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father's home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going." John 14:1 - 4
