So sorry to hear of his passing. He was our neighbor in Las Vegas and we were very fond of him. The last time I saw Tim was at SDCC and he was fighting his cancer. Rest easy my friend.

Tim, I have yet to find anyone who fought as hard as you did to survive a disease that was supposed to take you much earlier than it did. I have yet to meet anyone who kept such a positive attitude while dancing on deaths door. I have yet to find anyone who refused to accept what the doctors told you, as you did. In the end you lost, but oh what a battle you fought, right up until the end. My friend, I know you are in a better place now but you sure left a lot of friends behind. Friends who will think about you many years from now. They say you don't truly die until the last person forgets you. That will be a very long time.
You were a wonderful friend who was always supportive and who always had an answer to lift me up from feeling sorry for myself. You would point out how to accept life on life's terms. Thank you for that, Tim. I will remember our trips to and from the airport as you flew off once again with hope of finding a way to cure your illness. In all the time you fought this disease I never saw you surrender, but instead fight on and keep your positive attitude. What a lesson to know you. It makes all my little issues that annoy me as so unimportant. You taught me how to fight even when the chips were down.
We all will miss you Tim. Rest In Peace my friend.

Tim was an inspiration to anyone who knew him for more than five minutes. He is a prime example of the truth behind the saying " mind over matter - if you don't mind, it don't matter." In all the years I knew Tim, he lived his life by that statement. No matter what happened in his life, it was never enough top my him give up living life to the fullest ~ one day at a time.
Rest in peace my friend and brother ~ you've earned it ten fold.
My condolences to his wife family.

It was my pleasure getting to know Tim in AA over the years in N. Idaho. He did a little diving to help me with my dock and bouy for the sail boat. Always willing to help we are going to miss him. A few years ago he was using a cushon on the hard benches at Fort Sherman. I joking asked if he was looking for an easier softer way. That was the first time I heard about his cancer. I knew then that cancer was going to be in for a real fight!

Tim Boal, or young Tim as I called him in retaliation to his having called me Old Tim one time in jest. will be greatly missed among those of us who knew and esteemed him for the all too short time he was in north Idaho. He was a great story teller and was responsible for some of the best parts in the chap book I wrote about our mutual friend, the late Lew Billingslea. If there are lakes in the hereafter, the two of them are likely already trying their luck for bass. Tim was a walking and talking vaudeville show, always ready with a joke or some song and dance about his latest exploits. It seemed as though half of the time I knew him, Tim was either coming or going from some exotic place. I suspect if it were possible to hitch hike on jet aircraft, he would have found a way. He was a real promoter and I expect to meet him again in another life where, in all likelihood, he will be selling admission tickets. In all seriousness, a lot of communities will be diminished in his absence, not the least of which is the north Idaho "Society of Tims." Godspeed, my friend.
