Cousin Reid was truly his own man. Though I've known Reid and Judy for 60 years + I've really come to LOVE them more deeply these last 20 years. He and Judy have had a rare, adventurous (sometimes tumultuous) love and life together with their wonderful daughters.
Reid was always straight-forward in his relationship with others and when he spoke to you. My mom lovingly referred to him as a "wild March hare" but always anticipated and so enjoyed visits with him. He left us in wonder many times with his adventures.
One quick story. When I was a teenager, I babysat the girls many times for Reid and Judy. Judy sang on the local radio station in those days. Though their love for one another never was in doubt, they surely had their share of "disputes?" One time I asked Reid about it and he looked down with that grin of his and said, " I don't like the fightin much, but boy the makin up is sure great!"
The times I visited him at the lodge only increased my love and admiration for Reid and for Judy. Farewell cousin and happy hunting with our Lord and Savior. Gloria

Reid was a favorite person for me.
Upon my getting out of the service, Reid provided an opportunity for me two work for the city of Coeur dalene until I started college at NIJC.
Reid challenged me and trusted me. He was a great example for a boss and even more so as an individual. Reid introduced me to motorcycles and snowmobiling. I purchased my first snowmobile from Reid and he taught me how to ride it on a night ride.
Reid loved his family and they were the most important part of his life.
When Cheryl and I moved to Georgia in 1992, I never got to see Reid again but I will always appreciate the opportunity he gave me and the blessings of his friendship. Always a special man for me!

What a friend, what a brother. It has been close to 20 years since I was privileged to be with Reid, however I think of him often. his dedication to the Lord was impressive to say the least. I will never forget the time when we were working on the church at Hayden and Reid considerably older than I at the time worked with us hour after hour, at the end of one of the days as it was coming to a close he came up to me shook my hand and said --that's all I have for today. In my mind I thought I hope I have half that much when I am your age sir. (But I didn't say it) His hand shake at that time if you were not ready would cause you to be ready the next time. He forever ruined Ritz crackers for me, until Reid I would have never dipped them in salsa but now I never eat a Ritz cracker without thinking of Reid. He and Judy welcomed us when we were new to the area, the Best of people.
Judy we love you and are praying for you.

Reid and I met over 33 years ago and we became friends while ridding snowmobiles together. Our mutual love of the outdoors along with strong family values strengthened our friendship over the years. There were long periods of time that we did not see one another but that ever matter as we would just pick up where we left off when we did get back together. I was blessed to have had such a true friend in my life. I'm sure Reid will have all the good places scouted out to ride snowmobiles and ATV's when we meet again.

Grandpa Walker, thank you for your unfailing love you have shown me the past 24+ years. Thank you for being an incredible grandfather to your grandson Jamie as well as a great grandfather to our children Joe and Destiny. My favorite memory with you is your prayers during meal time. There was no question where you stood in your relationship with God and there is no question where you are standing right now, next to Him. I love you dearly and will miss you until we meet again. Love Rachel

Reid became a dear family friend passing on his love of the outdoors. Our family spent many happy times at the cabin in Granite Creek, camping in Hells Canyon and just listening to the great stories. He did give us the famous Cowboy Hot Tub that our grandkids used for 10 years. He was one of a kind and will be forever in our hearts. Heaven has gained a great soul. Jerry, Mary, Sherry and Brandee Sweikert.
