We will miss you so much Grandma Jerry. I will forever remember & love the memories of our banter about your Zags. Your vigor is an inspiration that I will always draw from.
In the latest "March Madness" run for the Zags, after each win, seeing my phone ring and then seeing your face on the video call politely asking if "I had watched the game?" made me realize that you are never to old to tastefully "talk trash."
As we watched the national championship game I actually found a part of myself hoping I would get one more call from you after a Zags win. That is no small feat.
More than anything I am eternally grateful for the example you set for your daughter and in turn your grand daughter, my wife. Your loving nature has been directly handed down into my life, for which I will always owe you a debt of gratitude.
Your testimony was visible in your actions, your loving nature and acceptance was an example of Christlike love. Your relationship with your Savior was your own and it showed through the confidence you had in the plan that had been taught to you by the Spirit. I see that carried on in so many of your grandchildren.
When you have a genuine relationship with another individual you are able to be yourself and at ease. The genuine relationship that you had built with the Savior was an example that I strive for. If we can follow this example and truly "be ourselves" with Jesus Christ, while feeling his encouragement to be the best version of ourselves we can accomplish so much with the people in our lives, namely our family.
I will continue to strive for the relationship that you have with our Savior, I will continue to try to teach my children in your example, and I will continue watching college basketball and cheering against the Zags, in hopes that I can one day get that one more call from Jerry to ask if I had seen the game.
Congratulation on the reunion with your husband and I can't wait to meet him!
