Obituary of Jon Allen Clem
Jon Allen Clem, 78, of Post Falls, Idaho passed away November 8, 2017 at his home. Jon was born August 1, 1939 in Wiggins, Colorado to Allen and Ella (Adams) Clem. As a child Jon moved with his family to Albany, California, where he spent most of his childhood. There he graduated from Albany High School in 1957.
After high school Jon joined the United States Coast Guard. Once he was honorably discharged Jon attended Concord Community College, and later Redland University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Science.
Jon’s passion in life was being a police officer. He worked as a police officer in California until his retirement.
Jon met Vicki Hines at a mutual friend’s party in 1966, and they were soon married September 24, 1967. They were married 50 years when Jon passed away.
In 1998 Jon and Vicki bought a piece of property on the North Fork of the Coeur d’ Alene River, and enjoyed spending their summers on the river. They eventually moved to North Idaho in 2001.
Jon was a member of the Coeur d’ Alene Elks, and a fly fishing club. He loved spending time with his family, going for drives, fly fishing, four wheeling, and shooting.
He is survived by his loving wife Vicki of the family home in Post Falls, Idaho; one son Jon (Amy) Clem Jr. of Seattle, Washington; one daughter Kymberli (Shawn) Lochrie of Post Falls, Idaho; one sister, Donna Stwart of Vacaville, CA and numerous nieces and nephews. Jon was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Jon’s life will be held Saturday December 9, 2017 ~ 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Coeur d’ Alene Elks Lodge 1170 W. Prairie Ave. Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho 83815.
The family suggests that memorial may be made to 3 C’s Cancer and Community Charities at P.O. Box 1274 Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho 83816.
