Obituary of George Joseph Nolan

George Joseph Nolan age 73 passed away at his home Monday January 22, 2018 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho He was born in Hartford, Connecticut on January 1, 1945. George married Dianne Hagelin on March 30, 1970 in Tolland, Connecticut.

He is survived by his wife, four children Kelly, Kevin, Chris and Jack, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. We Will Miss Him.

In 1971 George built a log cabin in the woods of Troy Montana using only a handsaw, also building all of their furniture by hand. He and his family lived there for seven years.

George was passionate about books, reading tens of thousands in his lifetime. He opened ‘George Nolan Books’, a rare and unusual bookstore in downtown Coeur d’Alene which he ran for over 20 years.

Viewing will be from 7:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, January 26th and Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 27th at 2:00 PM All at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church 4718 Horsehaven Ave. Post Falls Idaho. Bell Tower funeral home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
