William “Ted” Theodore Byers, 73, of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho passed away February 12, 2018 at his home after a short but brave battle with cancer.  Ted was born March 15, 1944 in Townsville, Australia as his father was serving in the United States Armed Forces and was stationed there.

After his father was discharged the family moved to Tracy, California when Ted was two years old.  Ted spent his childhood in Tracy where he graduated from Tracy High School.  He then joined the United States Army.  After his discharge he returned to Tracy, CA

While working as a computer programmer at Sharpe Army Depot, Ted met Sharon Mattingly.  It was love at first sight and after a three-month long courtship they were married August 19, 1967. Together they raised their family in Stockton and Lodi, CA.  Sharon and Ted finally retired to North Idaho settling in Coeur d' Alene with their daughter, Eileen and son in-law David.

Ted had an unshakeable faith in God and was an active member of his church. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lodi, California, and Real Life Ministries in Post Falls, Idaho.

Ted’s true passion in life was computers, he loved his years as a computer programmer and he continued this interest until his final days.

He is survived by two daughters Eileen (David) Blough of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho and Sherilyn Byers of Lodi, California; five grandchildren Drew, Lexi, Dillon, Hallie, and Heather; one brother Charles (In’ki) Byers of Santa Clara, California; and one sister Cleola (Alan) Kimball of Anderson, California.  He was preceded in death by his parents his wife, and one sister Delsyia Patricia Byers.
