Obituary of Nina Marie Hagen
Nina Marie Hagen was born December 19, 1932 to Esther and Thomas Lanning in Big Sandy, Montana. She passed in to the loving arms of our lord Thursday May 10, 2018 at Garden Plaza Assisted Living in Post Falls, Idaho.
Nina married the love of her life Myron “Sandy” Hagen on October 31, 1959 in Eugene, Oregon. They had one daughter, Renee Hagen (Larson).
Nina grew up mainly in Big Sandy and Helena, Montana, graduating from Helena High School in 1950. Nina attended Carroll College in Helena, Montana graduating with a degree in Nursing. Nina later attended the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington earning her Master’s Degree in Nursing.
Nina worked as a Registered Nurse in Seattle, Washington and surrounding areas for over 40 years. After receiving her Master’s Degree, she worked for State of Washington, Aging and Adult Services, as a Quality Assurance Nurse for 17 years until her retirement in 1995. Nina devoted her life to her family and friends as well as her chosen career in nursing and helping others. She was a wonderful and loving wife and mother and will be truly missed.
Nina was preceded in death by her parents Esther and Thomas Lanning, sister Katherine Gall, and brothers Thomas Lanning and Ike Lanning.
Nina is survived by her husband of 58 years Sandy (Post Falls, ID), daughter Renee and her husband Clayton and step-son Bryan (Anchorage, AK), sister Marion Routzhan (Helena, MT), many nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
A special thanks to the wonderful staff at Garden Plaza Assisted Living who took the best care of Nina. Her family is grateful.
Viewing will be Wednesday May 16 from 2 pm – 4 pm at Bell Tower Funeral Home, 3398 East Jenalan Avenue, Post Falls, ID, 83854. Funeral services will be Saturday May 19 at 1 pm at Bell Tower. A reception and celebration of life will follow at 2:30 pm at Garden Plaza Independent Living Facility, 545 N. Garden Plaza Court, Post Falls, ID 83854.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of North Idaho, 2290 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83815.
