I am so sorry to learn of Mary's passing! We went to college at Wells together, and I remember her as a sweet, funny person. One year we were in the midst of final exams and getting ready for Christmas break. Our dorm had a "Secret Santa" tradition which stretched out over a few days. I was Mary's, and I remember thinking that she was studying so hard that I wanted to make sure she took a break. My gifts to her were some Harlequin romance books (and I think a stuffed bear). The books were silly and addictive and over-the-top romance novels. I remember her trying to guess who her "Santa" was and laughing about the books. She read them all. :)

I had the wonderful opportunity of teaching with Mary for several years. Her passion for her students was unmatched. Her laughter and dedication to teaching was an inspiration to all of us. She will be missed!!

Greetings:
As a friend and fellow parishioner of sister Martha H. Frey I learned as did others in our Church of Mary's passing. As a Church family of St. Mary's of Springfield Center we extend our heartfelt condolences and prayers to the entire family. From what we hear Mary was a gift to so many and will be greatly missed to all who knew her. Our faith helps us understand somewhat and provide solace to go on in her memory. Kind regards.

With heavy hearts we send our condolences to Betsy, Martha and Andy. We loved spending time with Mary so much and most recently enjoyed her being with us during the month of June on Oneida Lake. We still struggle to comprehend that Mary is no longer with us. We had wonderful visits every time she came to town. We talked in length about some of her recipes this year and bringing NY favorite foods back to Idaho for her special parties. We shared many laughs and stories over wine .... conversations of trips and renovations, boating, restaurants and retirement. She was such a good person and easy to talk with. Mary was so kind to our boys and talked with them often as well. She even made each of them one of her delicious frozen treats this year, just because she knew they'd love it (which they did). Mary was great. We always said it was "officially summer" when the Frey's came to camp and it was especially a bonus for us when Mary made the trip from Idaho. We could have never imagined hugging her goodbye the last week in June would have been our last time. With deepest sympathy and much love we salute Mary. Never to be forgotten and always to be missed on Tyler Rd.
