Obituary of Albert Lee McCorkle
Albert Lee “Bud” McCorkle (87) passed away peacefully on August 20, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Bud was born February 5, 1931 in Boise, Idaho to Andy Jefferson & Velva (Rutledge) McCorkle.
Bud had 2 passions in his life: his family and mining. He met his wife of 68 years, Bernice Dougall, in Burke, ID and fell in love instantly. They were married in Wallace, ID on December 30, 1950 where they lived for many years raising their 3 children, Charlotte, Buddy, and Doreen. He has been blessed with the joy of 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Bud always found time for his wife and family and always made sure that they knew he loved them.
He spent over 45 years in the mining industry as a Gypo miner. He worked for many of the mines in the area. After retiring from the Lucky Friday Mine in 1993, he and Bernice co-owned and operated
Panhandle Recycling with Mike & Charlotte Young until they sold the business in 1996. He was a very industrious person who was self-driven and always provided for his family, while at the same time teaching valuable lessons of hard work.
Bud loved the Lord dearly and always did his best to do what Christ would do. He and Bernice attended the Assembly of God Church in Wallace for many years until they moved to Post Falls and have attended the Pleasant View Church ever since.
Bud’s memorial service will be Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11 am at the Pleasant View Church located at 19587 W Riverview Dr. in Post Falls. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to go to the Hospice of North Idaho, Schneidmiller House in CDA.
