Obituary of Christopher Terry Riffe

Christopher Terry Riffe of Hope, ID, age 70, passed away Friday September 14, 2018. He maintained a positive outlook through the healing process for multiple health issues. He was born in Oakland, CA on July 21, 1948, the son of Norman Terry Riffe and Barbara Annette Anderson, and raised in Walnut Creek, CA with his brothers Larry Tilden and Dana Thomas, and sisters Lucinda Lee and Annette Elizabeth.

 

After attending Del Valle High School, Chris received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from Chico State College and a Master’s degree in urban and Regional Planning from Eastern Washington University in Cheney WA. Chris retired in 2014 after serving as the City Planner for Rathdrum ID.

 

The family's Highland property development was made possible by Chris's planning skills and personal passion. He loved his music and home in Idaho and spent time hiking and kayaking. Family and friends were an important part of his life. He was a dedicated fan of Gonzaga basketball was able to attend as many games as invited or share via text the games progress with family. Go Zags!

 

Chris is survived by his brother, Dana of Chattanooga, TN, and nephew and nieces Shawn Riffe of Sandpoint, ID, Michelle Fullington of Portland OR, Casey Page of Billings MT and Megan Cherry of Sandpoint ID.

 

Chris loved his annual summer party. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday October 13th at 12:oo pm at his home in Hope for friends and family.
