Obituary of Bernita Mae McHale
Bernita Mae McHale, 93 of Post Falls, ID passed away on 11/8/2018. Bernita was in the Schneidmiller Hospice House of North Idaho at the time of her passing. She was born in 1925 in Enfield, Illinois the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Leslie Murdach.
Bernita is survived by her 4 children, Michael & Faye Halterman of Post Falls, ID, Connie Gomez of Post Falls, ID, Steve & Audrey Halterman of Kennewick, WA and Berni & Jim Seever of Boise, ID, 2 step children Ingrid Williams and Michael McHale, 8 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren, 3 siblings Edna Porter, Leslie Murdach and Phyllis Hawkins.
She was proceeded in death by grandchildren, Michael Brett Halterman and Theresa Dawn Martinez and siblings, Hubert Murdach, Beulah Phillips and Doris Kemp.
Bernita spent most her life in the Lewiston Clarkston Valley. She married Calvin Halterman in Lewiston ID in 1946, to this union there were 3 children, Michael, Connie and Steve. They divorced in 1955. Bernita remarried in 1959 to Earl Baker of Colton, WA to which 1 daughter was born, Berni Baker. Earl passed away ion 1969 and she remarried in 1972 to Frank McHale. Frank passed away in 1991. In later life she shared a long companionship with Joe Behler of Lewiston, ID.
She graduated from Lochyear Business College in Evansville, Indiana and spent her early years in clerical/payroll positions. The majority of her life was spend as a wife, mother and homemaker. Her passions in life were dancing , shopping and she was always known as a “snappy dresser”, which she took great pride in, proven by her 200-300 pairs of high heel shoes. She was a shoe Goddess. For over 40 years she didn’t miss her Thursday appointments at Talk of The Town with Sandy Spears. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her loving family.
