Dale and Judy have a special place in my heart and always will since meeting them thru the Walmart pharmacy. Not only was he a very kind, loving man but also a fellow Denver Broncos fan which would lead to some nice conversations. I will forever remember his great smile! We will miss you Dale!

I remember thinking back 59 years ago to meeting Dale who had fallen deeply in love with my best friend Judy and then I was to be a part of their beautiful wedding. They moved out West and to several states when we lost touch for too many years. Going through my mother’s saved papers I found Judy’s brother’s wedding invitation. Thankfully my husband found Judy’s sister-in-law still nearby. She gave me Judy’s phone number out in Idaho. I was so excited to call her and it was like we had never been apart. I talked for 4 hours with Judy and Dale laughing and reminiscing about all the fun and crazy stuff Judy and I did. That started many special conversations through these past years. Dale was a gifted artist and mentor. He spent time showing his kids and grandkids how to carve, fish, golf and also shared his gift of laughter. Dale carved many wonderful pieces for Denny and I that represented special milestones in our life and we think of Dale every time we see our treasures. Dale was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend but was also a great Santa at Darci’s work Christmas party. Her clients will really miss him. We thank God for bringing Dale into our lives and he will always be in our memory.

Sharing memories in regard to the loss of my father should be a no-brainer. Those of you that had the pleasure of knowing my father would know how easy it was for him to speak to anyone he came in contact with. The list includes friends, family & absolutely anyone he came in contact with during the course of any given day. He had the uncanny (sometimes uncomfortable I am sure for my mom) ability to approach anyone anywhere at any time and strike up a conversation. This gift was passed on to yours truly and I am certain I have mortified my immediate family on many occasions approaching random strangers to do the very same thing. The similarities between us diverge quite a bit from there. He was the most dedicated and loving husband I have ever seen. His world revolved around my mom and she was always first for close to 60 years of marriage. He was a provider and worked long hours to make sure that his family was taken care of. He was the guy that always went out of his way to help others in need. If the call went out for help dad was always there. I honestly can’t remember anything that he could not fix or engineer his way out of (unless it was computer related but that is a different story). The relationship that he had with our sons was something pretty special. The boys were able to spend a great deal of time with their grandparents over the years and they have fond memories of their Papa and the hours of fishing, bike riding, carving and cooking will be missed for sure.
The world was always a better place with Dad in it and I am certain that he is in a much better place now. Take care Dad we love and miss you

Dale was a amazing part of our family. He and Judy have been my children and myself BEST FRIEND (FAMILY) for then 51 years. No matter where they have lived we have spent so my time together but it was never enough. Al, Tom, Mamie and I will never forget the laughs you gave us over all these years. You and Judy got us through some really tough times and for that I am grateful that God sent you to us on that terrible time in September 1967. The great cruise we were able to experience together, the trip up to Estes Park during the winter when you locked the keys in the car and there weren't cell phones at the time and so many beautiful memories that we have. Until we meet again you beautiful angel. We love you!
