Obituary of Sandra Kay Waller
Sandra Risvold Waller, 72, of Post Falls, Idaho, ascended to her heavenly home on January 5, 2019 after a long battle with cancer.
Sandra was born on July 31, 1946 in Elmhurst, Illinois. The third child of Howard and Jeanette Risvold. The family moved to Santa Monica, California when Sandra was a very young. It was there that her father started their successful family business, Risvold Salad. Sandra’s older brothers Jerome “Jerry” and Monte were always very protective of their little sister.
Sandra’s life changed forever when she travelled to Kenosha, Wisconsin in 1966 to help her brothers with their business adventure. It was there that she met the love of her life, Stephen Waller. Their love quickly blossomed into a short engagement and the two were married surrounded by family and friends. Following the wedding, Sandra and Stephen moved to Southern California to begin their life together. They spent nearly twenty years in California raising their daughter Shelaine, building cherished memories and making lifelong friends.
In 1992, Sandra and Stephen travelled to Coeur d’Alene, ID for a visit at the urging of her brother, Monte. During the trip, Sandra fell in love with north Idaho’s lakes and pine trees. Before the trip was over, they knew that they wanted to make Post Falls, Idaho their new home. Sandra always loved the small town feel of Post Falls. Upon moving to Idaho, she started a new job RE/MAX of Spokane which progressed into a nearly 20-year career as office manager. Sandra’s co-workers, broker, staff and agents quickly became a second family to her. Sandra always had a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on and an office to vent in. She was the one to laugh with, act crazy with and was well loved by everyone. Every individual became a special treasure that she cherished dearly in her heart.
Sandra was the anchor to her family. She loved her husband, her daughter, her granddaughter, her brothers, sister, nieces and nephews with all her heart. Everywhere she went she touched someone’s life. The legacy and impact of her love will live on for generations to come.
Sandra has now been reunited with her parents and her brother Monte in Heaven. She is survived by her husband, Stephen Waller; her brother, Jerry Risvold; her sister, Carol Vega; her daughter, Shelaine Waller and her granddaughter, Rosalyn Bailey Crysler. We have been blessed to love her and to know her love.
