Obituary of Joseph John Dorn

Born: March 11, 1985 Died: March 20, 2019

Joey was born in Creston British Columbia March 11, 1985. He was the second son of four to Brenda and Tommy John Dorn.

Joseph grew up in a cabin in the mountains of Naples, ID. His family were off grid, and lived in a real man’s world. Without water or electricity, he grew up loving his family and the outdoors.  

After his mother was paralyzed in a car wreck, they moved to Rathdrum in 1990 where they lived until he was an adult.

He and his brothers struggled in life with addiction, and it was through this that they started their spiritual journey getting to know Jesus. Joey still struggled for a long time trying to get clean. He went through Good Samaritan Rehabilitation where he met Jesus as his Lord and Savior. The seed was planted and then he left to live his life. Everyone who knew Joey, knew he was the type of guy that would give the shirt off his back to help anyone.

Most people fell in love with Joey because he really could be so kind that you were drawn to him.

He was proceeded in death by his father Tommy John, his Uncle Benny and his Grandma Sue. Joseph is survived by his mother Brenda Dorn, Stepfather Joel Rittenour, brothers Benjamin Dorn, Jacob Dorn, Michael Dorn, sisters, Jenna Dorn and Jessica Dorn, children Kirstan Dorn, Joe Dorn, Kayle Dorn, Josiah Dorn, Abigail Dorn and Samuel Dorn and cousins, Robert, Missy, Naomi and Aunt Alice.

Funeral Service will be held at The Altar Church, 901 E Best Ave, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814, Saturday March 30, at 11:00 am.

We will be celebrating his life this Saturday, the 30th at 11am.  We ask anyone and everyone that feels called to attend, to do so, joining our family and the church body, in celebration of Joey’s time on earth. Our hope is many attending, may help each other mourn, with Christ as our covering. Services will be at The Altar Church, 901 E Best Ave in CDA.
