Benjamin was born in Chicago, IL to Jerome and Regin Kovacs.  He moved to Texas as a small child and was raised in Denton along with 3 sisters.  Benjamin moved to North Idaho at the age of 21 and started working at The Home Depot where he met his wife, Erica.  They were married in 2002 and had three children. Benjamin was an incredible father who had so much fun teaching them anything and everything.  He loved being active outdoors and had such a zest for life.  In 2014 he found crossfit and was instantly hooked.  A few years later he started competing in Spartan Races.   In June of 2018 Benjamin was diagnosed with ALS and FTD dementia.  He passed away 9 months later.  Benjamin is survived by his wife, Erica, his children, Samuel, Hebron, and Sarah, his parents, Jerome and Regin, and his sisters, Barbara, Beverly and Tina.

A celebration of his life will be held at The Bell Tower Funeral Home in Post Falls, Idaho on April 27th at 2pm.
