He was surrounded by his children at his passing. He was survived by his mother, Francis, who is 94 years old and sister Sandi of 70 years. He has two sons, David and Brian. On September 21st, 1969, Jerry married his long time love, Gloria Jean Tammar. Jerry and Gloria settled down in a quiet town of Santa Clara where they started their family tree. Jerry had many hobbies growing up, of which one of them was a HAM radio operator, he loved talking to people all over the world, and patching in phone conversations to loved ones. He also was a small aircraft pilot and would fly Moonies, Pipers, and Cessna’s. He had a passion for the game of baseball and taught his boys how to play. Jerry and his father in law managed the boys for many years together. He spent his spare time re-building Porsche engines for his friends. He loved to fish for lake trout and would spend the summer camping in the family's pop up Coleman tent trailer. He would also plan the family’s annual ski trip to South Lake Tahoe during the kids winter school break. In his later years battling cancer, his love for baseball grew much stronger. He often found himself at the Spokane Indians outfield chasing batting practice baseballs. He would shine up these pearly baseballs and would hand them out to little children just to see their expressions. Not an hour went by where there wasn't a baseball in his hand. He always mentioned that those little round balls were always a constant in his life. Never seemed to change.

Jerry also spent two years in the United States Army. He was a Paratrooper for the 82nd & 101st Airborne Division. Jerry jumped out of airplanes. Jerry always would tell the story that he jumped out of perfectly good airplanes. Jerry is proceeded in death by his father Leonard.
