Phil was a friend of mine and we went through basic training together at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri and served in the California National Guard Unit at Mt. Shasta California. We used to snow ski at the old Mt. Shasta Ski Bowl and he liked to say 'are you lacing while others are racing'.

Dear Bobbie and family, I was deeply saddened to hear of Phil’s passing. We go all the way back to childhood. Phil worked for my parents at the Dunsmuir Pharmacy after his brother, Bob graduated. He also babysat me on several occasions. Every morning when I put my makeup on I think of Phil. He was throwing me up in the air to entertain me and I hit a solid oak corner of furniture. To this day I still have a dent in my head. We didn’t let that get in the way and continued to have fun. He taught me to push the broom with sawdust on the floor the proper way….. I must have been about 5 years old. He and Bob spent endless hours treating the neighborhood kids to toboggan rides down Isgrigg day after day when it snowed. Yes, sweet memories of childhood.
May he Rest In Peace knowing he contributed to many fond memories of growing up in the canyon town of Dunsmuir.
